since everyone goes to bed early in my house, PS3 broke, too dark to bike, I decided to do some office work (Sketchup and a beer on a saturday isn’t that bad as I probably would have been making a cab-over DB9 or something). Well when I brought this up with my boss he more or less said ‘ok’ and walked away.

Yesterday he was talking about how he originally worked for his father and felt way under paid. This makes me feel like I have no chance with a raise. Yes I’ve been dragging my feet with this. I’ve been waiting for better timing which today we found out we’ve been hired to do the initial phases of design for a 250 unit 55+ condo development.

My boss also said we’re working Friday. “it should be pretty quiet, most other offices will be closed’

Yep.

I feel like he has no concept of having a child born, (he adopted) and I’m getting the feeling that he doesn’t think i’ll be taking much time off. I’ve heard that before that, he had no consideration for parenting things)

When I was hired here (last December) he was anticipating combining offices with another small office, making 4-5 employees instead of 2. I still get none of his time. I’m starting to move to applying elsewhere but I’ve only been here for 1 yr. (before that it was 3 months, and the place before that was 4 yrs)

In such a small place it shouldn’t cause any conflict or friction to just ask what his long term plans are and mention that you are looking for ‘more’.

That sucks. I wish I had some advice for you, but I have no experience in those matters.
